Although virtually all of these plates are beautiful, and most are in excellent or very good condition, some of the ones we have for sale can be considered irregular. Among the defects are minor misprints in the border pattern, occasional speckling, and areas of missing glaze, not necessarily resulting from use. We have seen plates in otherwise superb condition with glaze missing in an odd pattern that seems to reflect the colors used on the plate. We have handled an excess of forty plates of this type in the last two years, and found that the defects in about one-third were incompletely described by our sources. We are committed to providing accurate and complete descriptions, and reflecting condition in our prices, but it is important to remember that judgments are subjective. Remember, only major defects (such as chips and cracks) are noticeable when plates are used as is most appropriate, for display and decoration. This series is among the most impressive and brightly colored you could hope to find, and makes a great impact on the wall or in a cabinet. They are delightful when used to decorate a holiday table as long as you keep in mind that they should NEVER be used in direct contact with food.
