in the curio cabinet
These plates look great on the wall or on display in curio and china cabinets. If you are considering using these or similar dishes as tableware, read our discussion on safety as it relates to china. Click on thumbnails for more detailed photos. WE ARE NO LONGER PURCHASING CHINA. PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT US TO SELL YOURS. Visit our ordering page to read about our guarantee, and for information on sales tax, shipping, and forms of payment. Availability as of January 2008: We have only one 8-inch luncheon plate left, the Goldfinch, available for $25. We can obtain more luncheon plates upon request. Cup and saucer sets -- shown below -- are $30 per set. Hutschenreuther made two styles. Most of our sets are the "footed" cups (pictured below) with matching saucers measuring 2-7/8 inches. In this style, all birds are available except Baltimore Oriole and Scarlet Tanager. In the OTHER style (top of the cup flares out and saucer measures 2-3/4 inches), we have only one set (Goldfinch). Condition on all pieces is very good to excellent, with occasional minor discoloration of gold trim. No chips, cracks, or crazing; some pieces with minor scratches. The bird designs are not precise reproductions of Audubon's art, but are based on his images. All cups include a botanical detail on the back that matches that shown on the saucer. There are detail photos below for the blue jay set. Ask for photos of any set you are interested in.
